In a Word

So, Today on TV30 on the In a Word show,
they had a segment about writing blogs, and how easy it is to write blogs with Blogger.
Now why would they do that?
Psst....It's about the pictures anyways! ;)
These are pics thru the control room window, after we did that blogging segment.

Quiz Kids 06

The Bay Area Quiz Kids....You know, they look taller on TV.
A shot of the Director Jim at the switcher and Justin cueing up tape, just before a show.

The Van innards.

The innards of the TV30 van. Now, the ross video switcher wasn't supposed to be in there. It was an addition because of PC crashes. The Video Toaster NT system was infact very solid until we had problems with the system randomly crashing, supposedly to power supply problems. But this van is one of my evil creations with television technology-bout a year or so ago. It is a little clutterd--They were supposed to have a box truck type van...instead it was a GMC. Note that the furry head in one shot is that of the current engineer, and isn't included with the van.

The Lone...2....

Normally you wouldn't mix sour cream with video switchers. (This wasn't me!!) But you should've been there for the rootbeer thru the wall!

The lone...

The Lone Video Toaster screen. It is the last one. At least in this facility. It's serving as the control room's logo generator. The inteface screen is lookin a little worse for wear. That's not an interlace artifact of the camera phone in the screen, and yea, it is that ugly color too.

Room Update

So, I've been busy. Circuit City sent a new SVHS deck, and I've got my dubbing system back together. It's not next to my pc, so I've recovered some desk space. And in that desk space I've found room for the audio cassette deck. Test recording into the PC right now. Course, the cassette doors are broken. They wouldn't lock in. Tapes would jam, and you power it down. The only way to get it out is to seemingly force it. POP goes the plastic. Then they'd never shut again. Stupid design for such a good little tape deck. So, I just removed the doors completly. It seems to still work ok. Skid Row is pumpin' the jams. They actually rock pretty damn good. I miss that era of music.

Most of the current stuff I hear now just sounds so flat...They don't sound like rock bands anymore. When you'd punch up a GNR, or Skid Row, or even Metallica, it had more soul in it than what's up on that MTV now. That's not even incuding hip hop and rap either. Saw some of those VMAs...I love the concert/tv production apsect of it, it's some amazing stuff. But the music's just getting so stale. You put up Christina Agulara, Madonna, and Shakira, and Who do they award? PINK! I mean PINK!!! Come on, I dig Pink and all, but I totally think she's in a little different league. And then Beyonce performs live, and while yes the stage dancing elements were totally there-props for those....But the song-Why is it mostly all monotone? Nobody sings more than one note these days. And Beyonce's one of those singers that actually can sing damn good too, but the music doesn't show it. Oh well. My mom looks at me and wants to note the date-9/2/06, for those who are counting, the day I start not "getting" the current crop of music. I guess I am just getting older. That sucks!
Anyway. I trip out on opening boxes and drawers while looking for space for stuff. I find papers from high school and even before. Pictures from I don't know when. I even uncovered some Transformers-More than meets the eye. Pretty wild finds in this room. Definatley pretty wild.
